2. Processing of Personal Data
Personal data refers to individual information that directly or indirectly identifies a person, such as a name or a postal address. Processing of personal data may occur in the following cases:
1. Access Data / Server Log Files
SoftDeCC processes a limited set of data (known as connection data) technically necessary for each access to the web service. These data are required to establish and conduct a connection between your device and our servers. The processing is based on Art. 8(1)(a) of the e-Privacy Regulation. The following data or data categories may be collected:
- Name of the accessed webpage
- Date and time of access
- Description of the type of web browser used
- The page from which the file was requested
- IP address
The data stored by us are exclusively evaluated for statistical purposes.
2. Cookies
Websites use cookies, which are text files enabling the storage of device-specific information on the used end device. These are necessary for providing offers of the information society on our website and ensuring its error-free functionality. The processing is based on Art. 8(1)(c) and (d) of the e-Privacy Regulation. You can adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking cookies, however, may limit the functionality of the web service.
Most of our cookies are "session cookies" and are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them, allowing us to recognize your browser on your next visit.
You can configure your browser to notify you about the setting of cookies, allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. Disabling cookies may restrict the functionality of this website.
3. Google Analytics:
(1) Purpose of Processing: The SoftDeCC website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. Google Analytics uses "cookies," text files stored on your computer, to analyze your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. The processing is based on Art. 8(1)(b) of the e-Privacy Regulation and requires your explicit consent.
Google assures that your IP address will not be associated with other data. However, Google could technically identify individual users based on the received data, potentially processing personal data and user profiles for other purposes. We have no control over this. This, along with the transfer of data to the USA, raises privacy concerns. By using this website and not disabling JavaScript, you explicitly acknowledge and consent to Google processing your data as described above.
If IP anonymization is activated on this website, Google will shorten your IP address within EU member states or other countries party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission to the USA. The IP anonymization is active on this website. Google will use this information on behalf of the website operator to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website and internet usage.
(2) Legal Basis: The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
(3) Legitimate Interest: Our legitimate interest is the statistical analysis of user behavior for optimization and marketing purposes. To protect your privacy interests, this website uses Google Analytics with the "anonymizeIP()" extension to ensure that IP addresses are processed in a truncated form, eliminating direct identifiability.
(4) Recipient Categories: Google and its partner companies.
(5) Transfer to a Third Country: Google Ireland Limited is affiliated with Google LLC, located in the USA, certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield, ensuring compliance with EU privacy standards.
(6) Storage Duration: 14 months
(7) Right to Object: You can prevent the storage of cookies through browser settings; however, this may limit the full functionality of the website. Additionally, you can prevent the collection and processing of data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. You can also disable Google Analytics for future visits by setting an opt-out cookie. Further details and options can be found in Google's privacy center at https://safety.google/security-privacy/.
